Provinciale Staten: Why should you care?

Please note that this is a Dutch spoken event
The provincial elections are coming up again very soon. On the 20th of March, Dutch people can vote for the Provinciale Staten, indirectly electing the members of the Dutch Senate. The SPIL organises a debate on the 11th of March in the Provinciehuis Zuid-Holland for Dutch students who have no idea who to vote on. For the international students, we have a visit to the Senate coming up very soon, because of these elections! Keep an eye on our Facebook page or website for more information!

Theme Night on Dutch Politics

Have you been living in The Netherlands for a while now, but still don't have clue what the politics of The Netherlands even entail? We noticed that a lot of international students were interested in Dutch politics, but did not have the ability to really learn about it in an interactive way. Therefore, on Tuesday February 19 there will be a Theme Night on Dutch Politics in The Hague for all of our international students! During this evening, you will get a small lecture about the basics of the Dutch political system, you will talk with a member of the municipal council of The Hague, and you will get to know more about Political Youth Organisations. Take along all your international friends and impress your family and peers at home with your political knowledge about the Netherlands! Have you been living in The Netherlands for a while now, but still don't have clue what the politics of The Netherlands even entail? Take Your Kid to Work Day

On the 11th of February the SPIL will organise an event to broaden your understanding of the job perspective as a political scientist. On the 'Take your Kid to Work day' we will visit different institutions, organisations and companies that relate to political science, where you can get a sense of what it is like to be employed by one of them. Interested? Register here now!

Embassy hop

This Februari, we will be visiting four different embassies with the SPIL! Embassies: what is their function and why are they so important? What is the way of working in an embassy in a state like the Netherlands? We hope to find out during our visits. We will visit the Austrian, Indonesian, Brazilian and the Mexican embassy on four different dates and times. You can come along on one, two or all four embassies! Register here now! Full = full!
